Intangible

The mirror shard glistens
Calling to my inner darkness
As a whole, the cause of so many questions
As a part, the subduing of so much pain
The silver shimmers
Calling to my inner darkness
As a whole, it consumes and overwhelms
As a part, it causes distrust and shame
The darkness echoes
Calling to the shard of light
As a whole, it is somehow poetical
As a part, it is somewhat the same
The shard beacons
Calling to something bigger than me
Hoping to make sense of the pain
As a whole, causing friction and anger
As a part, adding clarity – much in vain,
Make it real,
Give it a voice,
Make me feel,
Take away choice,
Use the beauty of the solid silver river
That cuts through falseness like a charm
To reflect the pain that’s intangible
And give me the power over my demons to disarm

Ghost’ed, before

Seeing people who don’t hear you
Fading out as soon as other start to hit their stride
Your heart beat deafening you
With the agony of passing time

Talking with a voice that won’t carry
Dissolving into the air as soon as they’re formed
Lungs as flighty as a hummingbird
When you feel constricted and realisation dawns

Being in places that you don’t fit
Breaking the mould by simply breathing the air
Bones aching to be somewhere known
As you decide that you’re not goin’a care

Something inside you begins to burn bright
As you realise the fear makes you want to take flight
Simultaneously your choice as certain as a storm
Says no more to ghosting, time for a new norm
You take a deep breath feeling ghost’ed like before
To take a minute, call it out… not now, and no more.

Orpheus

Taking time by the hand

She walks

Looking to the future

An Orpheus curse

But despite her aching heart

She never turns back

Double negative

I can’t not love you

Just because

They say it’s better in the long run

I can’t not feel comfort

In your smile

Just because our future’s gone

I can’t not feel empty

I remember it’s gone

Just because you’ve moved on

I can’t not love you

Just because

I say it’s easier now that you’re gone

I can move on

Whilst I still love you

I can hold the conflict as I run

I can’t unlove you

I don’t want to

Just because your love has gone

I can’t unfeel or unsee

Everything good you were to me

I know that’s better in the long run

By your leave

Sometimes it’s best to step back

Step away

Trip away

Remove yourself from the situation
Sometimes it’s safer to hold back

Trip away

Step away

Hold your tongue and unanswered questions
Sometimes it’s kinder to yourself to be cruel and bold

Take your leave

And by your leave

Hold your searing pain and burning passions

Sometimes it’s kinder to yourself to appear kind but feel cold

Take your leave

And by your leave

Take control of your own fate, your decisions
Sometimes it’s easier to leave than to be left behind

So take your time

Trip away

Hold your tongue

Step away

When it’s a daily trauma you find
Take your leave

Keep your questions

And by your leave

Tame your passions

Sometimes it’s crueler to be kind

Stepping

Sometimes to move forward
You feel like you’re stepping back
Sometimes this gives you the space
To feel like you’re on the right track

Sometimes stepping seems impossible
You feel like you’re wading or trapped
Sometimes try standing fast in this moment
You may see something new in this gap

Sometimes to stand is the biggest step
You feel that moving backwards is just too tough
Sometimes your strongest move is to pause
And know that your presence in time is enough
